Tatango Acquires Mobile Technology Company Plyfe
We’re excited to announce that our company Tatango, the industry leader in text message marketing software, has acquired Plyfe, which enables marketers to create interactive mobile optimized experiences.
Plyfe is a privately held corporation headquartered in New York, NY, with investments from Initial Capital, General Catalyst Partners, Crosscut Ventures, Brad Harrison Ventures, and angel investors.
Founded in 2011, the Plyfe team developed revolutionary mobile experience technology that gives marketers the ability to create personalized, simple mobile web experiences, without the need for a developer.
Driven by the mission to make mobile experiences as rewarding and engaging for consumers as they are easy for marketers to create, Plyfe amassed an impressive list of brands and digital agencies who have used the technology over the last several years. That client list includes IBM, USA Today, Ogilvy, Unilever, VaynerMedia, Toyota, Campbell’s and more.
With Plyfe’s software, marketers can easily create mobile optimized experiences such as a Personality Quiz, Swipe Left/Right (Tinder for anything), Trivia, Timed Trivia, Registration, Image Based Polling, Video Trivia, Video Polling, # Galleries, Sweepstakes, and Leaderboards. Plyfe’s technology will be integrated into the Tatango platform
Following the acquisition, Plyfe’s technology will be integrated into the Tatango platform. By integrating this technology, brands will be able to send interactive mobile web experiences, through SMS, MMS or RCS messaging, which boasts a 99% open rate.
Tatango is the most comprehensive enterprise text message marketing solutions for brands. Now it will include the mobile web, which is a vital component of a brand’s text message marketing initiatives. Our customers will be very excited to have a complete mobile messaging suite to help them grow their businesses and enhance the customer’s mobile journey.
For years, brands have had to settle on using different sets of technologies to create a single mobile messaging experience for their customers. With Tatango’s acquisition of Plyfe, brands will be able to create, send and track their mobile messaging campaigns all under Tatango’s software platform.
“We are very happy that the team at Tatango identified the advantages of Plyfe’s mobile optimized experience technology and the value it will bring to customers,” said Jeff Arbour, CEO of Plyfe. “Tatango is full of fantastic and visionary people, and I’m confident that with this acquisition the Tatango platform will further establish itself as the leading text message marketing platform.”
