While I think most people are aware of the popularity of enterprise businesses using SMS, Message Systems found that 86% of enterprise businesses with at least $100 million in revenues, are currently using, or planning on adopting MMS in the next year. The survey comprised of 208 full-time employees at the director level or higher in key departments at enterprise business, such as marketing and advertising, and have at least a major influence in decisions regarding their company’s mobile messaging efforts.
What’s MMS? MMS stands for Multimedia Messaging Service, and it’s what allows businesses to send customers static images, videos, text longer than 160 characters, and our personal favorite animated GIFs.
How many enterprise businesses are using, or planning on using SMS in the next year? According to this survey, 89%. That’s pretty impressive, being that along with the usage of mobile optimized email, it ranks as the most popular mobile messaging type among enterprise businesses.
The survey was conducted by Harris Interactive online between April 23 to May 19, 2014 in the United States.
