Have you been looking for a text message marketing case study? Look no further than Silverstone, a British motor racing circuit next to the Northamptonshire villages of Silverstone and Whittlebury in the UK.
To increase ticket sales for the upcoming Formula 1 British Grand Prix, Silverstone sent an SMS broadcast to over 45,000 recipients on Silverstone’s database who had expressed an interest in attending future car events, or had previously purchased an F1 ticket. The SMS broadcast went out immediately after the finish of BBC’s highlights coverage of the Monaco Grand Prix.
The text message read “Enjoyed the Monaco Grand Prix? Get your tickets to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone now! http://bit.ly/12wYgh1 To opt out text STOP to 60070”, which you can see below.
With a simple click, fans were taken to a mobile optimized ticket ordering page, which you can see below. Pretty simple huh?
So just how well did this text message marketing campaign perform? That one text message generated a return on investment (ROI) of 680% for Silverstone. Pretty impressive text message marketing case study if you ask me!
