Text Message Marketing Insights

Dec 14, 2011

This seriously has to be one of the coolest text message marketing reports I’ve seen all year. There is so much great info in this report, which I’ve broken out below.

First, 28% of mobile subscribers in the U.S. received one or more text message marketing messages during the month of March 2011. While that’s cool, the really cool statistic is what exactly the content of those messages were.

  • 50% of text messages were info about product/service/brand.
  • 36% of text messages were coupons or discounts.
  • 32% of text messages were contests.
  • 8% of text messages were about donations to charity/non-profit.

Second, the report looked at the 17% of mobile subscribers in the U.S. that responded to a text message marketing advertisement during the same month. Like the statistic before, it also broke down what type of text message marketing advertisement the mobile subscribers were responding to. Below are the numbers.

  • 30% were responding to donate to charity.
  • 18% were responding to a contest.
  • 16% were responding to a coupon or discount.
  • 12% were responding to info about a product.

Let us know in the comments section below which statistic you found most interesting out of them all.
