Mobile Marketing is Being Underutilized in U.S. Marketing

Advertising Costs For Mobile Phone

The Wall Street Journal came out with a new infograph focusing on mobile marketing compared to other forms of marketing and how under-rated mobile ads are.

The infograph shows that mobile ads are by far the cheapest platform for advertising at only $2.85 which is half the price of ads on the internet and ten times cheaper than those on tv. Despite being the cheapest form of advertising, businesses are spending the lease amount on mobile ads. Only $2.6 billion dollars, which is less than 2% of all U.S. marketing spending is projected to be spent on mobile within the U.S in 2012.

I find this surprising considering the fact that it is equally as effective and cheaper than all other forms of advertising. Why do you think Mobile Marketing is being underutilized? Leave us a comment below with your thoughts on this matter.
