Our good friends at the CTIA have released their results from their most recent semi-annual survey. The data collected reflects the results for wireless providers that serve 95% of wireless subscribers in the United States.

- SMS messages surpassed talk minutes for the first time in 2011.
- SMS messages increase 12% from 2010 to 2011.
- Talk minutes increased only 2.5% from 2010 to 2011, which is better than the 1.5% decrease experienced from 2009 to 2010.
- In 2011 MMS messages decreased 7% since 2010.
