Junobe today announced a free iPhone application that we thought was pretty interesting for our users. This application is SMSBook, which provides an alternative to the internet when looking for information while on the move. Most customers don’t realize that an amazing amount of information is accessible from services via text messaging (or SMS). iPhone users can conveniently find a service provider through SMSBook’s directory, send a single text message and get the information they need within seconds. No more searching through screen after screen on tiny browser windows.
SMSBook includes a searchable directory of service providers classified under categories such as Mobile Search, Chat, Travel, Entertainment etc. Users can thumb through the different commands each service supports (examples are included), view text rate information, or navigate to the service provider’s main web page or mobile page (where available). The application directly links to the iPhone text messenger and inserts the short code number of the selected service provider when sending a message.
SMSBook is available on the iPhone App Store and is a free application. It can be also used as a handy reference by iPod touch users. SMSBook will be available for Android based phones later this year.
