Did you know that CallFire has acquired EzTexting, in addition to other SMS marketing providers owned by the EzTexting CEO Shane Neman, such as GroupTexting, ClubTexting, MoboMix. I reached out to EzTexting and they confirmed the acquisition, and said it went down sometime earlier this year.
What’s weird is that I, along with the rest of the industry had no clue this even happened, since there was no announcement, press release, blog post, etc. The only evidence of the deal is that the terms of conditions on the EzTexting site, along with all of the others now say “CallFire, Inc., DBA (doing business as) EzTexting”. See below.
What’s even weirder, is that I reached out to CallFire and they said EzTexting was only a “partner”, which leads me to believe that maybe the employees at CallFire don’t know about the acquisition yet.
So why the big secret? There are so many unanswered questions regarding this acquisition, especially as both EzTexting and Shane Neman have been in the industry for so long, and have been known to ruffle a few feathers along the way.
If anyone has any additional information about this acquisition, let us know in the comments section below.
UPDATE: We’ve since learned that Shane Neman has also joined the CallFire management team as the Vice President of Global Messaging, as you can see below.
Sorry. No data so far.
