The study found that 89% of gambling companies use SMS to send welcome messages to newly registered users, yet only 10% of casinos are using SMS for frequent SMS promotions.
The study also found that casinos ranked SMS marketing as their third most important customer communication channel, behind telephone and e-mail, but in front of mobile apps. It was also found that 53% of casinos said they pro-actively collect mobile phone numbers from gamblers.
